Welcome to the new website of GO FOR DA RECORD . . . HANA HOU!. We hope the re-launch of our website will provide you with the information you need to assist us in making GO FOR DA RECORD . . . HANA HOU! a huge success, not just in breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest ukulele ensemble, but, more importantly, to raise money in support of programs, projects and initiatives of Music for Life Foundation.

With pride, passion and enthusiasm we invite all ukulele players in Hawaii and from cities and countries around the world to participate in an ukulele ensemble to be led by Jake Shimabukuro at 7:00pm on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii as we again assemble the greatest possible number of ukulele players in a 2nd attempt to break a recent Guinness World Record of 1500+ players (set in Sweden on August 20, 2011).

GO FOR DA RECORD...HANA HOU! will be an event from 4 pm to 9 pm with pre-world record attempt activities of workshops, silent and live auctions, ukulele artists and ukulele manufacturers' vendor tables. The event will conclude with inspiring performances from ukulele virtuosos, artists, composers, and idols (see FAQ's for a continually updated list of performers).

At our GO FOR DA RECORD…HANA HOU! event we will be raising funds for the Music for Life Foundation - a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization committed to bringing attention to and assisting in the needs and lack of funding for music and arts programs in Hawaii schools. Additionally, with this event, we hope to provide opportunities for individuals and corporations to show their love, care and support for their community and for Hawaii.

Should we succeed in our world record-breaking attempt, The People of Hawaii will be the Guinness recognized *owners* of this new world record. More importantly, proceeds from this record-breaking event will provide for the tools, equipment, programs and the career guidance in making life less difficult for others.
